Brief summary of the month:
Winter 2002 was the warmest since 1999, and the second sunniest on record just behind 2001. In fact the last 3 winters are the sunniest on record. Rainfall totals were just below average, the driest since 1998. Snowfall was very limited with sleet falling on most of the snow falling days recorded. So to sum up, it was sunny and mild with average rainfall.
