Brief summary of the month:
September 2002 was a very dry month with 23 completely dry days, despite receiving 89% of the average rainfall all of which fell in just 6 days, the lowest total of rain days since 1986. It was also the sunniest on record with 146% of the average. September 2002 is also quite unique as it's the sunniest month of 2002 so far! As you would expect with all that sunshine it was a warmer than normal month with the mean temperature almost a degree above average, the warmest since 2000.
