Coldest April since 1941. Coldest July since 1965.

1979

Coldest winter since 1963 easily beating 1977, January was very cold and snowy. Coldest spring since 1962.

Coldest May since 1941 and also the wettest since 1969.  Wettest December since records began.

1980

Wettest year since 1966, with wettest June since records began. Driest April since 1938.

1981

Wettest March since 1947.   Coldest December this century with a mean of  -0.1c, and a low minimum record of  -12c  on the 13th.

1982

Severe Cold in January with blizzards on 8/9th. Very mild February.

1983

Warmest January since 1932 and the warmest July this century.

1984

Driest year since 1976

1985

23.5c on the 1st was the warmest October day since records began. Coldest November since records began.

1986

Coldest February since 1963, and the driest this century. Coldest April since records began, was followed by the coldest August since 1956, this was in turn followed by coldest September since 1972, and the driest since 1959.

1987

January 12th was coldest day since records began with a maximum temperature of only -5.5c

1988

Warmest winter since 1975.  Warmest April since 1946.

1989

Warmest winter this century, beating 1975.
