Brief summary of the month:
October 2006 was the warmest since 2001 and the 4th warmest on record (1960-2006) pushing October 2005 into 5th warmest. The month was once again wet, in fact eight of the last nine Octobers have recorded rainfall well above average. It was also the wettest since 2001 with 136% of the average rainfall. Sunshine totals were just below average with 93%, but it was still the sunniest since 2004.
