October 2005 was the warmest since 2001 and the 4th warmest on record (1960-2005). The lowest maximum temperature was the highest since 1977 and the lowest absolute minimum temperature was the highest on record (1960-2005). The month was again wet, in fact seven of the last eight Octobers have recorded rainfall well above average. It was also the wettest of any month since October 2004 with 122% of the average rainfall. Sunshine totals were well below average with only 78%, making it the dullest since 2000 and the 4th dullest on record (1971-2005).
