Brief summary of the month:
March 2004 was the coolest since 2001 although temperatures were above average. Rainfall was well below normal again for the fifth years running with only 59% of the average. Although drier then average it was still the wettest since 2001. Sunshine totals were again above average for the sixth year in a row but again it was the dullest since 2003 because of last years record sunny March.
