December 2006 was a warm but wet month and also very windy at times. It was the warmest December since 1988. The month was also wet with 126% of the average rainfall, the wettest since 2003. Sunshine totals were near normal with 106% of the average, the dullest since 2002. There was no snowfall for the first time since 1987 and the lowest number of air frosts since 1988.
