December 2005 was a rather dry but quite sunny month at times and quite mild for much of the month. Much colder and frosty weather in the last week made the overall temperature closer to the average. It was the coldest December since 2003. The month was fairly dry with only 78% of the average rainfall. Sunshine totals were well above normal for the 3rd year in a row with 162% of the average, making it the sunniest since 2001.
